Why choose JetMaster® InkJet Refill Systems?
Description
Jet-Master describes a family of ink-jet cartridge recharge kits. The system is similar for each kit. What varies is the color of the ink, the number of ink bottles per kit (four, for example, in a color kit), and the type of ink. We have standard and waterproof inks available. Please inquire at time of order if waterproof ink is suitable for your cartridge. As more printers come into the market, the listing of Jet-Master kits grows. If you do not find your printer in the current price list, please call. Kits include ink for an average of 6 to 10 refillings. After the initial kit, you just buy ink in the quantity and color needed. This makes the cost per recharge very low. And.... since you do not discard the dispenser(s), you are friendly to the environment.
Operation
In general, the operation involves three steps:
The operation is really simple, but we provide clear instructions with each Jet-Master kit to satisfy the desires of the most curious or cautious. Some cartridges are refillable without modifications. Some require minor modifications. Each kit contains the tools and the instructions to modify the cartridges as needed.
Jet-Master Notes
Recharging an ink-jet cartridge is very easy. The crucial ingredient, of course, is the ink which must have some specific chemical characteristics and, very importantly, it must be filtered to the point that there are no particulates (the tolerance is even tighter than with dot matrix ink), it must contain no contaminants, no chemicals that may react with the printhead element, and it must have anti-coagulant characteristics. Our inks comply with or exceed the manufacturer's specifications.
Apart from the quality of the ink, the life of a cartridge depends on how cleanly the printhead is maintained. Best results are obtained by re-charging an ink-jet cartridge before it becomes completely dry. A completely dried cartridge may accumulate particles near the printhead microchannels and recovery (typically by soaking) requires a measure of patience.
How many times can a jet-printer cartridge be re-charged?
In general, between 10 and 18 times. The more you print, the more you save. Some customers have reached 25 recharges. The variation depends on the way the cartridge is handled and your printer usage.
Can I damage the printhead if I recharge the cartridge?
In general, the cartridge IS the printhead. Cartridges are not affected by the ink but, rather, by the care taken in handling the cartridge. Care includes, for example, protecting the gold laminated printhead surface from abrasive handling and contact with fingers, storing the cartridge in a sealed environment when not in use etc.
Do manufacturers consider the cartridges disposable after one use? Why don't
they provide re-inkable cartridges?
Some do (not HP, but the others' printheads are almost exactly the same, and the principle of operation certainly is). However their ink, when available, is very expensive.
Why? Is their ink different from yours?
No. Our inks comply with or exceed the manufacturer's specifications.
