Listen to Radio on the PC
As an AM/FM radio receiver, you can listen to music in the background,
enjoy talk radio,or even catch a sporting event ­ all from the PC.  Cadet’s
interface includes ID LOGIC, which allows you to scan/seek the radio dial for your favorite stations or formats (i.e. rock, country, talk, etc.). The Cadet includes
a CD interface so that users can switch instantly to playing CDs, providing a
complete audio system. Like a regular radio, Cadet allows you to preset your favorite stations. The “Radio on Demand” feature offers VCR-like functionality, enabling you to record songs or radio programs even if you are out.

&ldotsAnd Receive Data via Radio Broadcasts
Cadet’s patent pending RBDS technology can receive data broadcast via an
FM subcarrier. The RBDS subcarrier is extra, unused bandwidth on the FM
frequency.  With it, radio stations nationwide can broadcast data to a PC equipped
with Cadet.  This broadcast data comes in the form of text, providing information
such as station call letters, artist’s name, song title, and other announcements.

RBDS Continues to Expand
The Electronics Industry Association (EIA) estimates that more than 700 U.S.
radio stations are already broadcasting with RBDS, and a substantial number
plan to add it this year.
